Privacy Policy

Who we are

Race Control (also distributed as Race Widgets) is an independent fan-made application. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Formula 1, the FIA, any team, driver, or championship rights holder. Product and company names, marks, images, and other media belong to their respective owners.

Data the app handles

  • Preferences such as favorite drivers, favorite team, spoiler controls, reminders, appearance, and widget settings are stored on your device and, where required for widgets, in the app's private Apple app-group container.
  • Session reminders use Apple notification services. Calendar access is used only when you choose a calendar action and grant the relevant permission.
  • Race schedules, results, timing, radio metadata, images, and related motorsport information are requested from Race Control's Cloudflare gateway and selected third-party data or media providers. Those services normally receive technical request data such as IP address, user agent, and request time.

Purchases and attribution

  • Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier, app/device information, product and entitlement status, and purchase/receipt information so subscriptions, restores, trials, and offers work.
  • Apple Ads attribution uses Apple's AdServices token collection through RevenueCat to measure which Apple Ads campaign led to an install or subscription.
  • When configured, the Meta iOS SDK records app installation or activation and product-funnel events such as onboarding, paywall views, checkout starts, reminders, shares, and core-screen use. Race Control disables Meta's automatic purchase logger; RevenueCat is the sole sender of subscription lifecycle and revenue events to Meta to avoid duplicate reporting. Advertiser-ID collection is disabled unless a future feature separately requests and receives the permission required by Apple.

Website and waitlist

If you choose Allow in the launch funnel, the website may use Meta and TikTok browser pixels and matching server-side conversion events while a campaign is active. Your choice is stored in your browser, and the funnel remains usable if you decline. These tools can process page URLs, ad click identifiers, browser cookies, IP address, user agent, event identifiers, and actions taken in the launch funnel. Depending on where you live, this use may be considered targeted advertising or sharing under local privacy law. You can change the choice by clearing the site's browser storage and can also use browser controls, content blockers, and the privacy controls offered by those platforms.

If you voluntarily join a waitlist or email list, we send the email address and first name you provide to Kit (formerly ConvertKit). The provider credential stays in a Cloudflare Worker secret and is not shipped in the app.

Service providers

Current service providers can include Apple, RevenueCat, Meta, TikTok, Cloudflare, Kit, and the motorsport data or media sources identified in the app's Data Status screen. Each provider processes information under its own privacy terms and our configuration of that service.

Retention and your choices

Local preferences remain until you reset or delete the app. Purchase records are retained as required to operate subscriptions, prevent fraud, and satisfy legal obligations. Advertising and email providers apply their own retention periods. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings, remove calendar entries, unsubscribe from marketing email, clear browser data, or contact us to request access or deletion of information we control. Some purchase records must remain with Apple or RevenueCat.

Children and changes

Race Control is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change; the effective date above will show the latest revision.
